The Crafty Photo Scavenger Hunt is an idea started by Kirst and this month hosted by Emma.
Inspiration
Picking spring flowers on a impromptu bike ride after work.
Something I made
Salad with rucola, lentils and couscous, tasted good!
Urban
Dhaka, urban city to the max, on a quiet day ;)
Transport
Sometimes it doesn't work like it should...
Motifs: Graffiti
Or street art at least. The rickshaw wallahs of Dhaka take great pride in decorating their rickshaws.

I love your photos from Dhaka, they remind me so strongly of Indonesia. What do they call the little motorised rickshaws there? In Indonesia they're called bajaj (and they're called tuk-tuks in some other countries aren't they?).
ReplyDeleteThank you Hedgie, Dhaka has indeed a lot of similarities with Indonesia, though you also notice it's much less developed. They call the motorised taxis CNGs, because they drive on Compressed Natural Gas. They're by far the most suitable mode of transportation there, I love them :)
DeleteI think they're indeed called tuk-tuks in Thailand and maybe some other countries in that area, that's on the 'to visit list' too!
Yup, rickshas for cycles in Bangladesh, but that's the name of the motorized in india.. and motorized are CNGeez in Bangladesh, tuktuk in thailand -- though tuktuk also apply to a huge lot of things around thai/laos !
ReplyDeleteThank you for that, I didn't know motorised taxis are called rickshaws in India. Just curious what they the the bike taxis there then?
